Well, some of our Christmas Eve was spent at McDonalds, anyway. We didn't leave for Omaha for Grandma Cheryl's house until later then we wanted due to A) the weather and B) not being ready to go! We stopped at McDonald's in Des Moines for lunch and met my parents there. Jaeden asked, as we were eating, "did you guys plan to meet them here?" The answer, of course, was yes. There was a fire place, a christmas tree, and a playplace. What more could you ask for on a Christmas Eve?
This is everyone eating Chicken nuggets at McDonalds. We shared 20 nuggets - yes, I got one and some fries. But, I got an Egg Nog shake, so life was good!
There's a Party in my Tummy. So Yummy, So Yummy!
Me and my parents ringing in the Christmas Eve with an Egg Nog shake. Yeah!!!
My mom and dad opening up their Christmas Present - a box of Candy from the 1950s. They loved it, and best of all, they can't return it! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...
My parents with some of their candy. My mom said she never had enough money for candy, so she stuck with the candy cigarettes and wax lips. My dad, who actually worked in a candy section for a while, remembered all of it. The kids wanted to try out the candy cigarettes, so we opened up a package.

My parents teaching my children how to smoke cigarettes. Every parent's dream come true! The sad thing is, they all really do look cool.

It was a lot of fun to see my parents for an hour at McDonalds. I'm so grateful they came to visit us for lunch. While we got to see them a bunch over Thanksgiving, it just wouldn't have been Christmas without them. And years from now, when my kids all have cancer from smoking, I can look back with fond memories on Christmas Eve 2008. And yet, we still had more to do, so on to Omaha for the rest of Christmas Eve!
